DTU Inside

When you are following courses on the Wind Energy Master programme, you are a student of DTU and as such, you have access to the intranet of the university, called DTU Inside. This is where you gain access to the DTU Library, software downloads, and your student email.

Exams

You are entitled to three exam attempts for each course. Once you pass an exam, you are not allowed to take it again. Planning of the exams and any re-examinations will be communicated within each course.

Final Project

When you have passed all nine courses in the programme, you can sign up for the final project and get in touch with a supervisor. You can choose to write your final project either in the Spring or the Autumn semester. Be aware that we require that you travel to Denmark to defend your final project. You do not have to stay in Denmark while writing the project.

Learning Management System (LMS)

Our Learning Management System is called DTU Learn. You will gain access to the system when you have received your student id and password.
The LMS is a platform where you find the course content and have most of your interaction with the lecturers and the other participants.

Prices and payment

The programme consists of nine courses and a final project.
Each course costs 11000 DKK and the final project costs 34000 DKK.
You only commit to one semester at a time and we will only charge you for the courses you have chosen for the specific semester

Scholarship

We are not aware of any scholarships that cover continuing education, however we do encourage you to research the options in your home country, with your union or other organizations who might have an interest in supporting your further education.
It is also an option to have an employer pay for the courses if you are able to make that arrangement.

Semester start

Semesters starts around September 1st. and February 1st. The specific date will be announced when you are accepted for the programme.

Study period and plan

When you are accepted for the master programme, you have maximum four years to complete all courses you wish and the final project if you are aiming for the master diploma.
Please note that if you start the programme in the Spring and aim for the master degree, you will spend a minimum of 2.5 years.

If you wish to plan your study in more detail, you might find some use of the tool My Study Plan (LINK)

If you plan to follow all courses and obtain the master degree, we have the following recommendations:

  • “Wind Turbine Technology” be followed as early in the study as possible
  • “Numerical Tools in Wind Energy” be followed as late in the study as possible
  • “Wind Resources” and “Aerodynamics and “Aeroelasticity” be followed before
  • Numerical Tools in Wind Energy” and Offshore Wind Energy – Design of Substructures”
